Our Services
At present we are responding to the Coronavirus pandemic by implementing widely researched and supported EMDR Early Intervention (EEI) and prevention therapies (R-TEP and G-TEP). In addition to our regular work we are delivering pro bono trainings and therapy to front-line care, teaching, health and emergency professionals, both in the UK and in Latin America.
We are also supporting individuals, children, teenagers and parents affected by the pandemic. We are inviting donations to support our pro bono work.

Our Regular Services
PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS AND FAMILIES
We commit, with you, to either time-limited or open-ended sessions, usually lasting 50 minutes at a time, on a regular basis. This will be negotiated at the outset, and the approach, regularity and timescale are dependant on your goals and personal circumstances.
Our approach draws on systemic, cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, humanistic and integrative therapies.
PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH EMDR (FOR INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS AND FAMILIES)
We commit, with you, to regular sessions, usually lasting one and a half hours at a time. This model of work is highly recommended for the treatment of psychological trauma and a broad range of other issues.
"EMDR is like a searchlight that finds and activates the frozen fragments of one’s memory of a trauma and allows one to bring together and weave a more coherent, wholesome and historical narrative of the experience."
INTENSIVE FAMILY INTERVENTIONS WITH EMDR* (ALSO FOR INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS, ON EITHER A RESIDENTIAL OR A NON-RESIDENTIAL BASIS)
We commit, with you, to a block of consecutive days to focus exclusively on the issues you wish to address and resolve. This is in addition to, or instead of, weekly sessions. Intensive interventions can be conducted on a residential basis at Paradise Farmhouse or on a non-residential basis.

What is EMDR?
EMDR postulates that all human beings have an in-built adaptive system that strives towards health, that is, it naturally seeks the processing of experiences, healing and learning.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychological intervention first developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the mid-eighties that is now widely used by counsellors and psychotherapists. Although EMDR was initially developed for the treatment of psychological trauma it is now backed by a body of on-going research evidencing its effectiveness for a variety of psychological issues.
The mind, like the body, has a natural tendency towards healing. This is the theoretical basis of EMDR therapy and it is referred to as the Adaptive Information Processing system or AIP Model.
